Rockville Club Seeks Volunteers for Twilighter

July 16th

Message from Heidi Webb, former president of Rockville Rotary and new Assistant District Governor:

Rockville Rotary Club has a signature event, the Twilighter, coming up on July 20. Now, we feel good about the runner numbers (expecting 500), but sponsorship is low and (perhaps the most critical) volunteers are low. In order to have a safe and meaningful event, we are required by the City of Rockville to have another 100 volunteers lined up between now and then. Certainly, I’d like to see more money come in for them, but ultimately if we can’t get the volunteers we can not host the run. Signup is online at: https://rockvilletwilighter.org/volunteer.

Vocational Service Update

June 28th

John Waterston is representing us as a match maker for Partnership for Transparency with Ethiopia (Addis Ababa Rotary) and we will monitor what develops. Another site where we are match-making is in India (Berhempur Rotary), state of Orissa. In early June, John helped give out nineteen $50 checks to worthy students at Thomas Edison High School. The workforce development and continuing education person at Montgomery College also has asked us to join the Community Partnership membership with Edison.
