Cleanup Set for April 13

March 8th

Our Annual cleanup in Rock Creek Park is scheduled for Saturday, April 13. Once again, it will be at the Kensington Parkway bridge over Rock Creek. Due to the heavy rains, there is plenty of trash! The cleanup is part of the “Exxtreme Cleanup” sponsored by the Rock Creek Conservancy, the Alice Ferguson Foundation, and Montgomery County Parks. Contact Kevin for details.

Erich Imphong

March 8th

Erich Imphong is a Certified Financial Planner who has been in the financial service industry for over a decade. Prior to joining Plotkin Financial Advisors, LLC, Erich was both a client manager and the associate portfolio manager at Geier Asset Management, Inc. in Marriottsville, MD. At Geier, Erich worked with professional athletes, business owners, retirees, and families to help them work towards their financial goals. In conjunction with these responsibilities he gained experience analyzing, identifying and executing strategies in client investment portfolios. The diverse clientele that Erich has served over the years has allowed him to recognize that there is not a standardized approach when it comes to crafting the right financial plan or investment allocation for clients and their families.
Erich conducts retirement income planning seminars on how to accumulate and align assets with one’s retirement goals. Specifically, Erich works with clients to integrate Social Security into their retirement plan and help them learn how to maximize their Social Security benefit.

Last Week: Jim Manley – Mr. Dictionary

March 1st

Jim Manley has been a member of our club for more than a decade, and in that time, he has been responsible for coordinating our dictionary program and giving thousands of third graders their first real book. Jim, who gave us a classification talk last week, considers that one his greatest achievements as a Rotarian (that and participating in our annual cleanup of Rock Creek). Jim discussed his career in the construction and remodeling business in Montgomery County, starting with his job as a contractor for Sears. He also talked about his work with the Glen Echo Park, where he serves as a consultant and facilities contractor.
Jim also mentioned that he and his wife will be moving south later this year after she retires from the McLean High School, where she has been a teacher for many years. We’ll miss them both!
