Last month Victoria traveled to Montenegro, the part of former Yugoslavia for the vacation. This country has the access to the Adriatic Sea and a very special history and nature. The history of Montenegro counts more than thousand years. The nature is unique. At the presentation she will show the photos with her impressions of traveling through Montenegro.
Monica Barberis-Young has been with Interfaith Works, a 501 (c)(3) since 1995. Interfaith Works draws its core strength from 165 member congregations to serve those in Montgomery County facing poverty. Monica is the Director of Family Services, managing three programs: Friends In Action (FIA), the Interfaith Housing Coalition (IHC), and the Interfaith Clothing Center (ICC). Friends In Action is an intensive case management program with a family mentoring component. The Interfaith Housing Coalition is a wholly owned subsidiary of Interfaith Works that provides permanent housing with the supportive services of Friends In Action to low-income families in Montgomery County. The Interfaith Clothing Center is the largest program of Interfaith Works, serving around 13,000 individuals every year. The center distributes clothing, household goods, diapers, layeties, school supplies, and much more throughout the year for free to low-income Montgomery County
residents. The Interfaith Clothing Center is expanding its programming to include educational opportunities, such as English Conversation Classes. Monica is known throughout the community as an inspirational leader and strong advocate. She is famous for her honesty and compassion for those around her. Monica will give us an depth look at the Family Services programs of Interfaith Works, including opportunities to volunteer an get involved.
Ulder J. Tillman, MD, MPH, became Public Health Officer for Montgomery County (Maryland) and Chief of Public Health Services in the County’s Department of Health and Human Services in October, 2003.

She received a B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania; medical degree from Harvard Medical School (1975) and a master’s in public health from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health (1982). She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Hopkins in psychiatric epidemiology. Dr. Tillman holds adjunct faculty appointments at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (Baltimore) and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (Bethesda).
She served as state health officer in Delaware (1998 to 2002); local health officer in Waterbury, CT (1989 to 1998). Her interests focus on increasing access to quality health care, eliminating health disparities and increasing community emergency preparedness.
