Since 1982, Rainbow Place Shelter has been a seasonal overnight shelter in Rockville serving adult women of all ages who are experiencing homelessness. Currently, the Shelter is in the process of expanding its mission.

Landrum is the Community Engagement Coordinator at Rock Creek Conservancy. He manages watershed related volunteer programs and connecting communities with the great outdoors.
The Conservancy’ programs include the Extreme Cleanup, which our club has joined for several years, invasive weed program, and summer youth employment.
Vijay is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland in College Park with interests in sensor development, computational neuroscience, and robotics. He is a strong and visible leader in the support and encouragement of young people in their studies in Engineering and specifically in formulating areas of responsive research. Dr. Kowtha has organized STEM events promoting basic research at the USA science festivals. Recently he formed a new non-profit called MASER (Mentors Advancing STEM Education and Research) with local universities. Dr. Kowtha has also mentored high school students in robotics competitions for two decades. These teams have won national level competitions and many students have graduated and are now gainfully employed in the federal workforce.He is a member of the College Park Rotary Club and active in the Montgomery Blair High School Robotics Team.
Club member Paul Arveson is Vice President on the Board of the Washington Academy of Sciences. He is also Director of Research at Solar Household Energy, Inc., an NGO focused on solar cooking research and field projects. Previously, Paul was a Senior Program Associate in the Dialogue on Science, Ethics and Religion Program at the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is a fellow in the American Scientific Affiliation and an active member of National Presbyterian Church.
Dr. Kehnemouyi is Interim Vice President/Povost at Montgomery College’s Germantown Campus and directs the Collegewide STEM Unit for the entire school. He holds an MS and PhD in mechanical engineering from The George Washington University and a BS degree in chemical engineering from Tehran Polytechnic Institute. He is a registered professional engineer (PE) since 1988. In 1983, he joined Montgomery College’s Department of Physics, Engineering, and Geosciences. He became the chair of that department in 1999. He is currently collegewide dean for Science, Engineering, and Technology.
