Monica Barberis–Young, Director of Family Services Interfaith Works

Monica Barberis-Young has been with Interfaith Works, a 501 (c)(3) since 1995. Interfaith Works draws its core strength from 165 member congregations to serve those in Montgomery County facing poverty. Monica is the Director of Family Services, managing three programs: Friends In Action (FIA), the Interfaith Housing Coalition (IHC), and the Interfaith Clothing Center (ICC). Friends In Action is an intensive case management program with a family mentoring component. The Interfaith Housing Coalition is a wholly owned subsidiary of Interfaith Works that provides permanent housing with the supportive services of Friends In Action to low-income families in Montgomery County. The Interfaith Clothing Center is the largest program of Interfaith Works, serving around 13,000 individuals every year. The center distributes clothing, household goods, diapers, layeties, school supplies, and much more throughout the year for free to low-income Montgomery County
residents. The Interfaith Clothing Center is expanding its programming to include educational opportunities, such as English Conversation Classes. Monica is known throughout the community as an inspirational leader and strong advocate. She is famous for her honesty and compassion for those around her. Monica will give us an depth look at the Family Services programs of Interfaith Works, including opportunities to volunteer an get involved.
